Licences§

Patent commitment§
Dr. Arash Kermani Kolankeh, as steward, commits to grant, to everyone who implements the Sanad specification, a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence under any patent claims he holds that are necessarily infringed by a conforming implementation. He holds no such patent today and does not intend to file one. The licence ends for a person who starts a patent action alleging that a conforming implementation infringes a patent.
On its formation the Open Sanad Foundation will adopt a royalty-free patent policy of the kind used by the W3C and will take over this commitment. Contributors are asked to make the same commitment for their contributions.
Trademark§
The name "Sanad" and the logo are not yet registered. The steward intends to file a trademark application himself and to hold the mark in trust for the foundation. Until a registration is granted this site does not use trademark symbols. The project asks that the word not be used for something that is not an implementation of this specification.
Conformance mark§
Anyone whose implementation passes the public conformance vectors may state that it conforms to Sanad v0.1, free of charge and without asking. The statement must name the version and say what was tested. The mark is never sold and never used to rank or endorse products. Use of the name that suggests endorsement by the project is not permitted.
Contributions§
Contributions are made under the Developer Certificate of Origin, version 1.1: each commit carries a Signed-off-by line. Contributions to the specification text are under CC BY 4.0, contributions to code under Apache-2.0. Contributors keep their copyright.
